Taking care of nature as it takes care of us.
Rums of uncompromising quality from the world’s most awarded rum maker.
With more than 500,000 barrels quietly aging – more than any other rum maker in the world – every bottle of aged gold and dark rum we make is blended to a unique flavor profile with more than 200 checks for taste and quality.
A true aged rum must be left undisturbed as it slowly develops depth, flavor, and aroma over the years. Every drop of rum we create is made this way, with our master rum makers, the Maestros de Ron BACARDÍ waiting and watching for the perfect moment. ‘True’ even extends to how we state their age. Unlike many other aged rum brands, we believe in being authentic. That’s why we only ever state the youngest rum in the blend, even when far older rums are used.
More than any other BACARDÍ rum, our Reserva range of aged dark and gold rum has spent extensive time patiently building the depth, smoothness, and flavor that’s demanded of them. This makes them particularly satisfying served neat, on the rocks, or in an elegant cocktail like an Old Fashioned, a Rum Negroni, or an Old Cuban. Aged, blended, and undeniably smooth, these are exceptional rums that contain the warmth of the sun and the smoke from the barrel in every sip.
The many secrets of BACARDÍ rum have been handed down from one master rum maker to the next since 1862, all the way back to Don Facundo BACARDÍ Masso himself. Key to this is the art of the blend, where the Maestros de Ron BACARDÍ combine meticulously aged gold and dark rum to get the taste, style, and aroma that they are searching for. After more than 160 years this still relies on their highly trained sense of taste and smell as well as the instincts that only a lifetime of practice can give.
No. While both are made using the same BACARDÍ yeast and rum-making tradition, BACARDÍ Reserva 8 is based upon the family’s private blend. This was originally reserved for special occasions and includes a particularly discerning choice of barrels and a specific level of char.
Yes. Both rums are blended to achieve a different flavor profile. This demands a particularly discerning choice of aged rum bases and techniques as they search for the unique combination of taste, flavor, and aroma.
The BACARDÍ Reserva range contains purified water, high-quality molasses, our signature strain of yeast, La Levadura BACARDÍ and time itself as the rum slowly develops taste, depth, and aroma.
BACARDÍ molasses must meet very specific characteristics – from its level of sweetness to its nutrient content and its environmental impact. As part of this it must also adhere to the Bonsucro® standard, the world’s highest level for sustainable sugarcane production.
Yes, however, the Maestros de Ron BACARDÍ will use different charcoal combinations and recipes depending on the flavor profile of the rum they are blending.
No, the age statement on a bottle of BACARDÍ always represents the youngest rum in the blend, even when much older rums are used. We believe that this is the most honest way to list their age.
Yes, it is.
