THE BACARDÍ STORY
From a family dream in 1800’s
Cuba, to celebrating the moments that
matter today to our global community…
Back in the 16th century, the Draque cocktail was created, combining aguardiente (a crude precursor to rum) with lime, sugar and mint. This concoction is said to be the earliest version of the Mojito.
In 1862, BACARDÍ founder Don Facundo Bacardi began producing rum. The Draque recipe was altered to replace aguardiente with something more palatable, and BACARDÍ rum was used. The Mojito, as we know it, was born.
If this is your kind of cocktail, here’s our selection of other BACARDÍ cocktails that might suit your taste.
